“LADIES WHO LAUGH” HOSTED BY NEW YORK WOMEN IN COMMUNICATIONS FOUNDATION
You’re long overdue for a night out with the girls and the perfect venue and atmosphere has been set. The New York Women in Communications Foundation invites you to spend an evening with the rising stars of comedy. Sip cocktails, munch on hors d’oeuvres and celebrate summer with a fun-filled comedy night you won’t forget! The 5th Annual Ladies Who Laugh will feature some of the industry’s best comediennes including Helen Hong, Karith Foster, Kristen Schaal, Jodie Wasserman and other talented and amazingly funny women. The event EMCEE will be Sara Haines, contributing correspondent from NBC News Today.
Hong is a comedian, TV host, matchmaker and star of Logo Channel’s reality dating series: “Set Up Squad.” She has been on the Huffington Post Favorite Female Comedians, profiled in the NY Times and featured on E, TLC and is a frequent host on PBS'”Asian America.”
Foster is a stand-up comedian, motivational speaker, TV & Radio personality, actress, author and entrepreneur. She is perhaps best known for being Don Imus’ sidekick on “Imus in the Morning.” Foster has hosted her own internet talk show and is the author of Laugh Your Way to Happiness: 101 Ways to Have a Great Laugh. She has a long list of TV appearances and many other accolades to her credit.
Schaal is an established star of the alternative comedy scene. She won the award for Best Alternative Comic at the United States Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen (2006) and is the recipient of the Second Annual Andy Kaufman Award. Schaal was included in NY Magazines: “10 Funniest New Yorkers You’ve Never Heard Of.” She has been featured in several venues including prime time television appearances.
Wasserman was co-creator and co-host of Spin Cycle Comedy, a groundbreaking stand-up show that took place in a NYC laundromat. She’s been profiled by The Times, Newsweek and Japanese TV. Wasserman has appeared on Comedy Central’s Premium Blend, BET’s Comic View and Dutch TV Show, “The Comedy Factory.” She is frequently featured in venues throughout NYC and across the country.
